I've reimplemented the pointy/flat animations on https://www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/ from JS variables to CSS transitions.
This *should* result in smoother transitions that use less cpu. However I'm a little worried it may not work great across browsers. If you see glitches, let me know!
