A $400 million fine for TikTok to settle COPPA violations (https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-secures-400m-settlement-tiktok-and-bytedance-resolve-childrens-privacy) can seem like real money if you squint... but not if you remember that TikTok's investors agreed to cough up *25 times that much* as a brokerage fee/kickback to the Treasury Department.
