This is a heavily interactive web application, and JavaScript is required. Simple HTML interfaces are possible, but that is not what this is.

We need something like signal that's not so weirdly phone-centric.
We have xmpp and matrix, but they really just haven't had high adoption.
Signal requires a phone, and disclosure of your mobile number, which isn't acceptable.
Telegram isn't actually a secure platform, nor is discord.
