If you can, could you try the Leyden premain nightly? I think EA2 is not realizing the full AOT code compilation gain, as I fixed an interesting bug there last week. It is here: https://builds.shipilev.net/openjdk-jdk-leyden-premain/ -- alas, only Linux builds, and I think you are running MacOS for your tests.
