Authors of fake papers love round-number sample sizes. I've never understood why — maybe they think it makes the stats easier.
If you randomize 90 people into 3 groups, the chance of getting 30:30:30 is 0.0091. Not clear evidence of fraud, but it is an indication that you might want to dig deeper.
