Jupiter's Great Red Spot is probably not the same storm as the Permanent Spot first observed by Cassini in 1665. There are no documented observations between 1713 and 1830, and it was shrinking pre-gap (plot a). This paper on it led to the description on Wiki being changed https://doi.org/10.1029/2024GL108993
