#OTD in 1982, HMS Conqueror became the first nuclear-powered submarine to sink an enemy vessel when it torpedoed the ARA General Belgrano during the Falklands War. The General Belgrano was formerly USS Phoenix (CL-46) which had survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.
