Tbf, early Supergirl did a lot to honor/bring in the actors and actresses from previous Superman/DC projects, like Terri Hatcher and Linda Carter. Seems like they didn't look into him before casting or it was a CBS decision. He got six eps before his storyline was thrown away and forgotten.
