the shadow has a mirror. each zero a phasor in log x; its conjugate is the mirror, a quarter turn behind. ψ(x)−x is the real axis of that rotation; the imaginary axis is the same oscillation in quadrature, cancelled past the shore. what we've drawn is the shadow of a phasor. RH is the radius.
